A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Luxury 5* Corporate Hotel brand, Canary Riverside Plaza Hotel in Canary Wharf, East London.
We are currently recruiting a proactive and driven Food and Beverage Manager to be a part of our main Guest Culinary Gem of the Hotel, the Food and Beverage Department.
Set within the historic wharfs and quays of East London, Canary Riverside Plaza is the only five-star independent hotel in Canary Wharf. The 142 spacious guest rooms and suites make for an incredibly comfortable stay, be it for business or leisure, offering stunning views of the River Thames and city beyond. Enjoy the full five-star experience with access to the adjacent Health Club and Spa or indulge with afternoon tea on the sun-filled terrace at the Quadrato Restaurant.
Quadrato Restaurant offers Italian inspired menus with flavours that are light, fresh and quintessentially Italian. The incredible view of the River Thames and London skyline are best enjoyed from the elegant terrace or on colder days, the soaring windows of the restaurant. The adjacent Quadrato Bar & Lounge offers an array of signature cocktails, wine, beer and spirits and is the perfect place for pre-dinner drinks or a night cap.
Adjacent to the hotel, all guests enjoy complimentary access to a five-star Health Club. Set on the River Thames, the club offers three floors of expansive fitness facilities, including a sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pools and a 20 metre infinity edge lap pool.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a similar Food and Beverage Manager role within the Hospitality 5* Hotel Industry.
Must have Food Hygiene and Food Safety Compliance Qualified Certificates.
Ability to work under pressure and independently.
Advanced Microsoft Office Computer skills and relevant programs like Microsoft Outlook for communication.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work to tight deadlines.
Positive attitude.
Commitment to delivering a high level of Guest Service.
Excellent grooming standards.

Responsibilities

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE WOULD INCLUDE:

· Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will direct, lead and manage the Food and Beverage Department in line with the Hotel Main Brand Standards.
· Work closely with the Head Chef, while managing the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, Banqueting Supervisor, Room Service Supervisor and Food & Beverage Assistants in driving Food and Beverage quality with regularly monitoring Food Safety / Operational Health & Safety ensuring that this is complied to an impeccable standard.
· Develop a Food and Beverage Operating Strategy with maintaining all Food and Beverage SOP’s that is aligned with the brands business strategy and lead its execution, with presenting updates to the Operations Manager.
· Adhere to the LQA and Forbes guidelines and actively enforce these standards.
· In conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing collections of Food and Beverage Assistants / Mini Bar Assistants and Room Service Assistants, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and guest satisfaction.
· Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide guidance for professional development with briefing the Group Director of Human Resources.
· Drive training within the team in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, actively encouraging team members to partake in courses such as WSET or obtaining industry qualifications.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to drive cohesive operations and achieve overall organisational goals.
· Work closely with the Purchasing department in sourcing the best products for our guests, where possible with a focus on sourcing the most sustainable option.
· Develop and manage the F&B budget in line with forecasts.
· Review and control the weekly payroll budget with ensuring that all F & B Department Rota’s are completed in a timely fashion.
· Drive self-audits throughout the year to ensure we are compliant as a hotel.
· Manage day-to-day operations, drive quality, and verify standards are meeting the expectations of our guests on a daily basis.
· In conjunction with the Head Chef, oversee menu planning, pricing strategies, and Food & Beverage offerings, ensuring innovation and alignment with industry trends.
· Identify opportunities to increase Profits with driving Revenue and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary change.
· Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to optimise pricing and quality of goods and services.
· Analyse guest feedback, implement improvements, and develop initiatives to enhance the dining experience.
· In conjunction with the Health and Safety Security Manager, ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, Food Safety and sanitation regulations.
· Drive sustainable practices through the department and across the wider hotel.
