  Summary/Objective Server assistants must move quickly and efficiently and maintain constant communication with the server on the status of each table. The server assistant needs to assist the server by ensuring that every guest’s needs and special requests are met. He/she is the backbone of the service team, making sure that the basics of service are met, from water service, food running and resetting the table. Essential Functions 1. Assist the servers, bartenders and our members in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner 2. Interact with members in a friendly, caring, and personalized manner. 3. Greet members by offering them a warm, heartfelt welcome to the restaurant 4. Understand restaurant’s food and beverage preparation and be able to articulate the menu for personalized experience. 5. Ask questions to learn member preferences. 6. Complete side-work duties to include but are not limited to dusting, window cleaning, organizing coolers, polishing glassware and silverware, deep cleaning the front of house spaces. 7. Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and back of house areas 8. Maintain the proper care and cleanliness of serving equipment. Stack and handle china, glassware, and silver to avoid breakage 9. Setting and resetting of tables before, during and after service periods 10. Polish silverware, glassware, share plates and fold napkins as necessary 11. Pre-bus and bussing of tables during service period; assist servers with service steps where necessary 12. Clean all spills, and broken glassware/dishes immediately, using floor signs when necessary 13. Work as a team and effectively communicate with management, servers and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by members and or other associates 14. Expedite food orders and assist servers with beverage service by refilling beverages when appropriate and running beverage to tables. 15. Consistently following Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by Tributary 16. Set up and breakdown for Food and Beverage Events to include, chairs, tables, glassware and other tabletop wares. 17. Adhere to all property and department policies and procedures. Work Environment This position operates in a restaurant setting as well as out and about in the club grounds. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required. Days and hours of work are typically Monday – Sunday from 10:00 – 6:00pm but be adjusted as necessary for business needs. Ability to work weekends, holidays, days, and nights with flexible hours. Schedule is subject to change, and applicants must be flexible with schedule adjustments. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience · A high school diploma or equivalent. Previous restaurant experience required. Preferred Education and Experience · Understanding of basic cocktails and/or bartending experience is preferred. · Prior experience in a restaurant fine dining or refined service position preferred. · Excitement and interest in food and beverage services and related components. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be fluent in English speaking, reading and writing.
