Food & Beverage Server
Elmhirst’s Resort is a vacation destination and conference property located on Rice Lake (approximately 25 minutes from Peterborough). Food and beverage venues include a 50 seat fine dining room featuring regional cuisine matched with 100% Canadian wines, a 50 seat family restaurant with patio, a 120 banquet room, a 120 seat conference facility, plus an 80 seat conference and banquet facility.
The Server performs all tasks associated with setting up, serving, and breaking down of dining room, pub and function rooms. The successful candidate is responsible for the prompt, courteous, smooth and efficient service of food and beverage to guests. Warmth and graciousness with the ability to function in a busy environment while creating stellar guest experiences is a must.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Smart Serve Certification
  • Previous related work experiences
  • Toast POS experience an asset
Responsibilities
  • Review and understand function sheets Open Table and point of sale system at the beginning of each shift to ensure smooth operations and attend all pre-shift meetings.
  • Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated on function sheets.
  • Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
  • Have a good understanding and able to communicate products and service-related query to guests.
  • Take orders and collect payments where specified, respond to guest requests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Monitor tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests and properly open and pour wine at the table side.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization in all service areas.
  • Communicate any areas of needs, problems, and concerns from guest to the supervisor.
  • Assist with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding napkins polishing silverware, re-set venues, etc.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Assist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships.
  • Other duties as required.
