Description:

The Georgian Bay Club (GBC), located minutes west of Collingwood in the heart of Ontario’s finest four-season destination area, is widely known as one of golf’s most desirable and picturesque private clubs. The GBC is widely known for service, relaxation, quality and a casual yet elegant atmosphere.
The GBC is looking for a Front of House Supervisor to join our Food and Beverage Team for the upcoming 2025 Golf Season. This is a full-time, seasonal position with the Club scheduled to open at the end of April and remain in full operation until the end of October (weather dependent).
At the GBC, our Front of House Supervisor plays an integral role in ensuring our Members and their guests have an exceptional dining experience and provides leadership and supervision to all the Front of House Team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience supervising other employees, serving drinks and food, bartending, and catering in a restaurant or food service establishment
  • Knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine and familiar with standard drink recipes
  • Strong computer and Point of Sale operating experience, preferably in Jonas POS system
  • The ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks and execute them in a timely manner, recognizing what takes priority
  • Previous Food & Beverage Management in fine dining or Club environments is highly preferred
  • Able to stand and constantly move around for long periods of time
  • The ability to lift and/or move at least fifty pounds on a consistent basis
  • Current Smart Serve Certification

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating, implementing, and training all service staff on the standards set out by The GBC
  • Continually educate and communicate important information to all service staff
  • Assign side work to service staff and ensure it is completed to standard
  • Greet Members and guests by name and confirm reservations in a timely manner
  • Help maintain a pulse on service and kitchen timing, as needed
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the menu and maintain accurate information in the Point of Sale system
  • Promote and expand the Beverage Program
  • Oversee nightly closing duties, assist in the preparation of day end settlement reports, and ensure all Member chits are completed and in order for processing
  • Assist in generating monthly beverage inventory and costs with the Director, Food & Beverage
  • Communicate expectations for a safe, clean, and positive work environment
  • Maintain awareness of employee attendance/tardiness and issue disciplinary action, if necessary
