Job Summary:
The Sea Pines Resort is seeking a motivated, service-oriented individual to join our Food & Beverage team as a Banquets and Catering Captain. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals who have had some exposure to event execution—whether through part-time work, internships, or school-based roles—and are looking to build a career in hospitality. You’ll support and help lead the setup and service of weddings, corporate functions, and private events at one of the most scenic resorts on the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet and catered events
  • Supervise and support banquet servers and bartenders during events under the guidance of the Director of Banquets
  • Act as a liaison between the kitchen, event staff, and guests to ensure smooth communication and service flow
  • Monitor event timelines and ensure service standards are met or exceeded
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety standards
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor issues with professionalism and a service-first attitude
  • Participate in team meetings and event briefings to understand expectations and logistics
  • Learn and apply resort and departmental policies and procedures related to food service and event operations

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Some previous experience working in events, catering, banquets, or hospitality (internships, seasonal work, or part-time roles count)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
