JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Food & Beverage Assistant General Manager is responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of all food and beverage operations within the establishment. This role involves supporting daily operations, managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and contributing to financial and operational goals.

NECESSARY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff, guests, and management.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle guest concerns and ensure a positive dining experience.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various aspects of food and beverage operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address and resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in food and beverage management or a similar role, with a proven track record in staff management and operational oversight.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry items up to 30 lbs.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise levels.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in managing daily food and beverage operations, including restaurants, bars, and catering services, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Supervise and support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for the food and beverage department. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that food and beverage quality meets the establishment’s standards, including taste, presentation, and hygiene.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and controlling food and beverage supplies to minimize waste and manage costs effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling and alcohol service procedures.
  • Assist in developing and implementing promotional strategies to drive sales and attract guests. Collaborate with marketing teams to create marketing materials and special events.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff to enhance service skills, product knowledge, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage General Manager and other departments to ensure seamless operations and integration with overall hotel or restaurant goals.
  • Prepare and present reports on operational performance, guest feedback, and financial metrics to the Food & Beverage General Manager.
  • Comply with Dolphin Hotel and River Street Inn policies at all times.
  • Complete or perform any additional tasks assigned by the Restaurant or Hotel General Manager / Director of Operations.
