About The Position * Work Type: Full Time. * Location: Pyrmont & Haymarket, NSW * Hours of work: Varied, alternating days & evenings weekly and weekends. We have an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong hospitality background, love of fast paced live entertainment and events and a passion for the theatre industry in Australia to join our food and beverage team as a Food & Beverage Manager. Foundation Theatres is the owner and operator of two of Sydney’s most prestigious commercial theatres, the Sydney Lyric and Capitol Theatre, as well as our new venues including the intimate Foundry Theatre and the large and multipurpose venue, the Sydney Event Centre. We are looking for someone with strong skills in stock management, rostering, event day operations, retail bar operations and client management to come and join our business through a very exciting growth period. Whilst working across all our venues, this role will be focused primarily at the Sydney Event Centre working on our concert and corporate events clients. This job will include work throughout various days and times of the week, focused primarily on nights and weekends, and is great for someone who thrives in working in a fast-paced venue with lots of moving parts where no two days will be the same. What it takes to be great in this role. * The ideal candidate would have 6+ years experience in the hospitality industry, focused on fast paced retail bars or event businesses. * You will require a valid NSW RSA Certificate, and ideally an Advance Licensing qualification. * Have a strong focus on customer and desire to exceed expectation of clients and patrons. * Work well in high paced environment with lots of moving parts. * Experience with rostering software, POS software and strong financial acumen. * You will have the ability to effectively manage your time and work proactively and with flexibility. * You will have strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively work alongside all departments within the business and hirers. Your Day to Day We are looking for passionate and energetic leader to add to our already wonderful food & beverage leadership team. Working closely with a small, dedicated group, we are looking for all-rounders who love hospitality service, leading a team and working in a fast-paced environment. Your day to day will include elements such as but not limited to: Rostering | Roster all required casual staff for event days, including casual supervisors, team leaders, bar attendants, cellar attendants and more. Work alongside the Head of F&B to ensure that the venue always has sufficient staff to cover operations. Stock Management | manage the ordering and receiving of all required for the venue including management of the POS software for the venue. Oversee regular stocktakes and deliver reporting on stock problems and overall analytics on stock in the venue. Leadership | provide operational leadership to the F&B team working in the venue including upholding of licence conditions and upholding all work health and safety guidelines. Provide oversight to all the day to day F&B operations of the venue, including setting up of bars, rostering of staff and programming of venue screens. Client Engagement | Be the company’s representative for the client, engaging with them and assisting with their needs as required. Artist riders & Crew Meals | Manage the ordering and deliver of all artist riders and crew meals required for the venue. Licence Protection | Function as the primary RSA marshall in the venue, monitoring service of alcohol and championing the upholding of our Liquor Plan of Management at all times. Responsibilities
