Description Job Summary The Food & Beverage Manager / Summer Pool Manager is a leadership role responsible for the operational excellence, financial performance, and service standards of the Club’s Food & Beverage operations year-round, while providing direct oversight of pool, aquatics, and poolside food and beverage operations during the summer season. This position supports the Food & Beverage Director and collaborates closely with Facilities and Clubhouse leadership to ensure a safe, engaging, and high-quality member experience. During pool season, this role serves as the primary leader for aquatics safety, staffing, and seasonal pool Food & Beverage outlets. The position requires a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal hours. Job Description Food & Beverage Operations (Year-Round): Direct daily operations of all Food & Beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, on-course service, pool F&B, and banquet operations, ensuring consistent service standards and member satisfaction. Lead, coach, and hold Food & Beverage teams accountable to performance, service, and safety expectations. Recruit, hire, train, mentor, schedule, and evaluate Food & Beverage staff; address performance issues promptly and professionally. Support the Food & Beverage Director with budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis, labor management, and cost controls. Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, seasonal offerings, promotions, and suggestive selling initiatives. Ensure consistent use of POS systems, inventory controls, purchasing procedures, and accurate operational reporting. Maintain pars and purchasing oversight for china, glassware, silver, linens, uniforms, and service ware. Ensure front-of-house environments, presentation standards, and key control procedures are consistently upheld. Enforce compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, OSHA, and alcohol service regulations. Proactively manage risk by enforcing policies, monitoring service practices, and addressing unsafe conditions or behaviors. Review and approve timecards and ensure accurate payroll practices. Resolve member and guest concerns promptly and professionally. Attend and contribute to daily and weekly Food & Beverage meetings and perform other duties as assigned. Pool Manager (Seasonal / Summer): Serve as the primary leader and subject matter expert for pool operations, aquatics safety, and seasonal programming. Oversee seasonal pool Food & Beverage outlets, including the snack bar and pool bar, ensuring staffing, inventory controls, service standards, and compliance with alcohol service laws. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards, pool entry staff, and seasonal pool Food & Beverage staff. Provide hands-on leadership and coaching to ensure lifeguarding standards, safety protocols, and customer service expectations are consistently met. Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for aquatics safety and poolside service. Ensure all lifeguarding protocols, safety standards, and Club policies are followed at all times. Monitor, document, and respond to incidents and accidents; complete required reports and communicate serious issues to Club leadership. Promote accident prevention through consistent enforcement of rules, positive member engagement, and staff coaching. Ensure the pool is properly staffed and member-ready at all times. Ensure pool events are properly staffed. Conduct daily walk-throughs of the pool, locker rooms, and poolside service areas to ensure cleanliness, appearance, and safety. Coordinate pre-season preparation, daily operation, and winterization of the pool in partnership with Facilities. Monitor and record pool chemical levels; make adjustments as required and immediately communicate irregularities. Ensure first aid supplies, rescue equipment, and poolside service equipment are stocked, maintained, and ready for use. Review and approve timecards and ensure accurate payroll practices for seasonal staff. Resolve member and guest concerns related to pool operations quickly and professionally. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted. 2–10 years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, club, resort, or high-volume food service environments. Proven experience managing Food & Beverage operations, team performance, and financial controls. Required Pool Certifications: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification CPR/AED and First Aid Certification Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Red Cross Lifeguard Management certification preferred. Strong leadership, financial, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of pool safety standards, health codes, and operational best practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, coach, and influence teams. Ability to work a flexible schedule and meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25–50 pounds.
