JOB DESCRIPTION

The Food & Beverage server position is an important a part of the Member experience. Members are supportive of our staff & recognize the importance of their contribution to the Club. The position is not only to carry out servers’ duties in a timely & professional manner, but also to be able to connect with the Members & make every interaction a positive one.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Knowledge of food & beverage preparation & service
  • Communicate effectively with guests & co-workers, i.e., provide information, answer questions, etc.
  • Stand and/or walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods
  • Must be able to carry trays weighing up to thirty (30) pounds, which is equal to 8 plates with covers, through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift
  • Must be able to push & pull weight equaling one hundred (100) pounds
  • Be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Be of legal age to work in Ontario
Responsibilities

· Very knowledgeable about the cuisine specialties offered, wines & upselling features
· Very organized & comfortable working in a high-pressure environment
· Able to take orders & carry them out to Member, Guest & Manager satisfaction
· Memory skills: To promote excellent interpersonal relations with Members & Guests
· Adhering to strict hygiene standards
· Follow club’s health & safety regulations at all times, working in a safe manner, looking out for your co-workers as well
· Troubleshooting any problems that may arise

· Multi-tasking: Able to complete tasks while being Member focused & delivering high-quality customer service every time

  • Responsible for setting up all event spaces, including: Table & chair placement, service ware settings, linens, napkin folding, cutlery & other service wares as directed
  • Clear tables & buffets in proper sequence, using trays, stands & proper clearing etiquette
  • Plated Service: Uses proper “mise en place” as directed
  • Communicate with guests, supervisors, co-workers in a courteous manner at all times
  • Performs general cleaning tasks using standard club cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
  • Ensures cleanliness of banquet space including banquet kitchen
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest standards & efficient operations
  • Reporting to work as scheduled (on time & on regular basis) is an essential function
  • All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor
