Job Description Reporting to the F&B Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Organize and conduct daily pre-shift meetings communicating pertinent information to the colleagues. Schedule and direct staff in their work assignments. Train and direct staff in all food and beverage operations according to Fairmont Standard. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to staff. Observe colleague performance, praise as well as encourage improvement when necessary, with effective and consistent performance management. Maintain proper inventory levels of wines, other beverages and supplies. Set-up and train employees on wine and beverage service and knowledge. Enforce proper beverage service standards during service. Assist in developing and implementing cost saving and profit enhancing measures. Assist in creating beverage promotions and recommend price adjustments based on market trends, quarterly competitive analysis and product sales mix. Conformance to Fairmont standards of dress and personal appearance is required. Interact positively with customers, promoting hotel facilities and services. Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties. Continuously move throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food and beverage quality and service standards are met. Carefully handle customer complaints by conducting thorough research of the situation in order to choose the most effective solution. Utilize prescribed cash handling procedures to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence. Qualifications Proven experience as a Food & Beverage Supervisor or in a similar leadership role Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate team members Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and industry best practices Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and POS systems Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences with a positive, customer-first mindset Fluency in English Understanding of local cuisine, cultural preferences, and customs in Kenya Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and hospitality management software Additional Information Physical Aspects of Position: Frequent sitting and walking throughout the shift Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting Job-Category: Food & Beverage Job Type: Permanent Job Schedule: Full-Time
