JOB DESCRIPTION

The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the F&B operations. The duties include ordering inventory, inventory controls budgeting, and cash handling, provide direct guest, staff and management interface with regards to the Restaurant/Lounge and Banquets operations. The Supervisor is responsible to work directly with the Associates using a hands-on approach of management. The Supervisor is required to maintain a flexible schedule and be available to work shift work including evenings, weekends and holidays and provide leadership in service and innovation while providing a working environment that fosters career growth and development for our team members.

Responsibilities
  • Using a “hands-on” approach, supervises Associates in their duties .
  • Trains and coaches the associates on all service standards and ensures 100% compliance
  • Actively promotes an environment conducive to high quality customer service and employee relations by being a positive leadership example.
  • Responsible for scheduling, payroll, disciplinary actions, training and mentoring for staff
  • Coaches and trains the associates on the hotel standards/key deliverables and approved methods of service and cleanliness.
  • Ensures customer concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner
  • Access and input information into POS.
  • Responsible for the smooth day to day operations of the outlets
  • Conducts daily pre-shift walk through of all outlets and buffet area. Notes any deficiencies and follows up with General Manager, maintenance and/or kitchen as required.
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings with associates and assigns break times throughout the shift.
  • Ensures cleanliness of all outlet areas and holds associates accountable to the assigned daily task lists. Signs off daily lists upon completion.
  • Communicates buffet menu, specials, promotions, etc. to associates.
  • Interacts daily with guests during the peak periods to ensure their satisfaction within the outlet.
  • Deals with customer concerns and listens to their feedback to improve service.
  • Advises kitchen of food quality/presentation concerns.
  • Avoids overtime when possible by effective shift management.
  • Encourages up-selling of all products through coaching and sets up daily up-sell targets
  • Executes promotions and up-selling strategies with F&B team.
  • Conducts inventories for liquor & supplies; maintains optimum stock levels to meet demands.
  • Ensures all associates comply with the hotel uniform and grooming standards.
  • Provides feedback Manager on associate performance and makes recommendations for progressive discipline as required, to ensure associate concerns are dealt with in a timely and immediate fashion.
  • Document any discrepancies or violations of Nova Standards and Policies
  • Understands and follows the Health & Safety policies and security requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance of safety and sanitation standards and policies.
  • Assist with ongoing promotions and events
  • Assists with training new team members by CLEARLY outlining expectations & effective training with our Nova Standards.
  • Ensures regular training is conducted with associates for new promotions, menus, etc.
  • Interviews for new team members.
  • Ensures ALL team members are trained on fire safety plan and the procedures within.
  • Assists in the execution of sales and marketing initiatives.
