POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dependable Food Expeditor to coordinate and oversee the final stages of food preparation, ensuring that every dish is not only delicious but also presented flawlessly. You’ll work closely with our kitchen team and servers to create a seamless dining experience for our guests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as food expeditor, line cook, or server, is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Familiarity with the menu offerings and the ability to accurately describe dishes.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and review food orders from the POS (Point of Sale) system.
  • Verify the accuracy of each order, checking for any special requests or dietary restrictions.
  • Relay any special requests or modifications to the kitchen team. Provide special attention to orders with specific dietary needs or allergens, ensuring they are prepared safely and accurately.
  • Provide updates on order status to servers, ensuring they are informed about any delays or changes.
  • Inspect each dish to ensure it meets the restaurant’s quality standards.
  • Confirm that all components of a dish are present and correctly prepared before it leaves the kitchen.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure that orders are prepared and plated in the correct order and according to their priority level (e.g., appetizers before main courses).
  • Monitor cooking times and inform servers of any potential delays.
  • Address any discrepancies or issues with orders promptly and professionally, finding solutions that maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the expediting station is clean and organized at all times.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation guidelines.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and other restaurant personnel to maintain a cohesive and efficient operation.
