A Buckner’s Kitchen Manager is responsible for all BOH cooking and food functions and Cook Crew staff to ensure that the cooking and prep runs smoothly. Having basic knowledge of how equipment works and how to fix equipment and fixtures is almost a must. Being mechanically inclined will help success for sure. Kitchen functions include having a part in or leading of food purchasing, cold and dry storage, preparation and maintenance of quality standards, sanitation and cleanliness, training of crew members in methods of cooking, preparation, portion control, cost control, and cleaning procedures. A Food Manager works closely with the Kitchen Manager and kitchen staff to ensure that quality standards are met as well as planning, forecasting, scheduling, menu, waste reduction and product/facility organization standards are met. They organize the daily tasks needed to produce great food and help supervise the food service operations at all times to ensure the food prep and cooking runs smoothly. They focus on what customers do not see when they dine at restaurants. Based on the seasonal demands, catering orders and groups, a Food Manager will help plan and prepare crew and schedule. They are also expected to perform equipment maintenance and keep up with maintenance log. Forming relationships with vendors and service providers is crucial for a Food Manager. They are an important member of a restaurant team to ensure operations run as expected. Salary noted is entry level base with the opportunity for results driven bonus structure as well as PTO, Vacation Pay, and Some basic benefits.

REQUIREMENTS

• Food Safety Manager Certification
• At Least 5 Years Experience in Food Service
• At Least 2 Years Experience in a Leadership Role
• Proficient in math and units of measurements
