Description

Our client in Cambridge is seeking Extrusion Line Operators.

MUST HAVE FOOD MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE

The Mixer Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and consistent operation of pet food products.
This role ensures that all products meet quality, safety, and production standards in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manually package, seal and label the products for shipping to the customer.
  • Monitor and maintain product quality.
  • Guide the product off the conveyor and ensure it is being cut properly.
  • Prepare the product coming off the line and spread it out on silver racks for cooling.
  • Wheel the racking stand into the cooling room.
  • Inspect raw materials and ingredients to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Perform routine quality checks (e.g., moisture content, size, shape, texture) during and after extrusion.
  • Mixing /grinding the products
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and work area following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Comply with all Health & Safety regulations, HACCP protocols, and WHMIS guidelines.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting and escalate technical issues to maintenance as needed.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a food manufacturing company.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read and follow production formulations and standard operating procedures.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Physically capable of lifting to 25 kg, standing for long periods, and working in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to work overtime occasionally as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Manufacturing plant with exposure to noise, heat, and food ingredients.
  • PPE: Safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, hairnets, and other PPE as required.

Shifts:
5am - 3pm - Monday to Friday
3pm - 1am - Monday to Friday
