Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Food Preparation Assistant to join our team making pies, scotch eggs, sausage rolls, pasties etc. As a Food Preparation Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and making high-quality pies and associated products for our customers. Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking
- Follow recipes and instructions to prepare food items accurately and efficiently
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers
- Monitor food temperatures during cooking and ensure proper food safety practices are followed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including washing and sanitizing utensils
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth running of the Pie Room
- Assist in receiving and storing food supplies as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required as full training will be provided
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods would be useful, but full training is provided
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

- Food Hygiene Level 2 is desirable, but training can be offered
Work is 5am - 2pm every day, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and/or weekend work available during busy periods. We offer competitive pay rates and a friendly and supportive working environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.21 per hour
