POSITION – FOOD QUALITY CONTROL OFFICER

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming food products (meat, fish, vegetables, dairy, etc.) for quality and compliance with health standards.
  • Monitor storage conditions (temperature, humidity) in chillers, freezers, and display units.
  • Conduct regular hygiene inspections across fresh food, butchery, fish, deli, and bakery sections.
  • Check expiry dates and remove near-expiry/damaged/spoiled items as per policy.
  • Ensure proper food labeling (product name, expiry date, price, etc.) is maintained.
  • Monitor cleaning and sanitization schedules of food contact areas and equipment.
  • Report any quality non-compliance, contamination risks, or pest issues immediately.
  • Train and guide staff on proper food handling and personal hygiene practices.
  • Maintain documentation and records as per regulatory and internal audit requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and the purchase department regarding rejected/damaged items.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food safety or quality control (preferably in retail or supermarket).
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety standards, and UAE Municipality regulations.
  • Basic computer skills for report writing and data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
