Description The Food Runner is responsible for ensuring that members receive their food in a timely manner from the kitchen. To achieve this, runners must be responsible for all areas concerning them, and are fulfilled to the utmost of their ability. This includes working as a team with co-workers and maintaining facilities and services at the highest quality level for the enjoyment of members and their guests. Major Responsibilities Run food from the kitchen to the appropriate server at the appropriate locations. Confirm that food being delivered is correct to the order and is pleasingly presented, prior to leaving the kitchen. Assist expediter in traying up food to be run to the servers on the floor. Assist service assistants by carrying dirty trays back into the kitchen and keeping tray stands clear. As time permits, assist service assistants on the floor with their major responsibilities. Assist servers in serving food to the members. Complete opening and closing side work as assigned. Maintain cleanliness in work area both inside the kitchen and on the floor. Work as a contributing player on the team with a positive attitude and a genuine smile. Assist in set up for large parties and events including buffet set ups. Set up working station with all appropriate items needed for lunch and dinner (sauces, utensils, crackers, bowls, etc.) Requirements Previous restaurant experience preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong teamwork and communication skills Attention to cleanliness and organization Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs Flexible availability, including required weekends, and holidays
