OVERVIEW

The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that all food products meet safety and quality standards. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety programs that comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quality assurance and control, with expertise in HACCP, FDA regulations, and ISO 13485 standards.
Specific experience and familiarity with CFRs 100, 101, 111, 117, 121, 210 and 211

SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles and FDA regulations.
  • Specific experience and familiarity with CFRs 100, 101, 111, 117, 121, 210 and 211
  • Experience with quality systems management and QA/QC processes.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite and SharePoint platforms
  • Proficient in conducting quality audits and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent analytical skills for data analysis related to food safety.
  • Project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives effectively.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for training staff and collaborating with teams.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • 5 years of food and beverage industry experience
  • 3 years of botanical and herbal material experience

EDUCATION

  • BS in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or similar field (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement food safety management systems to ensure compliance with HACCP and FDA regulations.
  • Develop and Maintain SQF Compliance for the facility and all products.
  • Oversee the Organic and Kosher Certificates and compliance the SOE regulations.
  • Conduct regular quality audits to assess compliance with established quality systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that enhance food safety processes.
  • Analyze data related to food safety incidents and trends to inform decision-making and improve practices.
  • Lead training sessions for staff on food safety protocols, quality control measures, and best practices.
  • Manage projects related to food safety initiatives, ensuring timely completion and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain documentation related to quality assurance activities, including reports on audits and corrective actions.
