The Food Quality and Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, maintaining quality assurance standards, and supporting product development initiatives. This role will oversee HACCP programs, regulatory compliance, certifications, and internal audits while collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role will provide technical support to customers, assist in product testing, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Education & Experience: Post-secondary education in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in food safety, regulatory compliance, or quality assurance.
• Knowledge of Regulations: Strong understanding of HACCP, SFCA, BRCGS, GMPs, and food safety principles.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documentation, regulatory compliance, and quality control processes.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Technical Skills: Experience with laboratory testing, food safety documentation, and audit preparation.
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and office management software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
