Description

Purpose of the Position: To monitor and manage all aspects of the company’s food safety components to ensure compliance of our products for both domestic and international trade.
Team Position: The Food Safety Coordinator works at the direction of the General Manager and the company Operations Manager in coordination with the Facility Managers. This position also supervises the food safety compliance of the facility employees.
Terms of Employment: The Food Safety Coordinator is a full-time employee eligible for standard company benefits. The normal basis of the position is a 40-hour work week to be completed Monday through Friday. Compensation is an hourly wage with any overtime paid according to applicable state and federal law.

Key Responsibilities: While the Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of food safety, there are core duties in successfully fulfilling this position-

  • Monitor food safety standards and update the company practices to maintain compliance with the latest updates and changes.
  • Maintain the company’s current Food Safety Management System, its operating SOP’s and all applicable supporting documentation and binders.
  • Document, maintain and scan all records needed for food safety related activities for a period of two years.
  • Educate all facility personnel of needed food safety practices and expectations.
  • Supervise facility production employees for food safety compliance.
  • Schedule and complete all needed regulatory and third-party food safety audits as needed. Obtain needed facility certifications as necessary and/or requested.
  • Work with all company clientele to provide them with requested food safety records approved for release.
  • Maintain and adequate supply of food safety related stock and personal protection equipment.
  • Administer the company’s HACCP plan and obtain certification as a HACCP certified trainer.
  • Manage and maintain a food safe compliant pest control program.
  • Assume responsibility for food safety requirements and travel as needed between the three company processing facilities.
