Description

The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of food safety and quality assurance at our egg processing facility. This role ensures our products meet the highest standards for safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role will lead the quality team, manage compliance programs, and support continuous improvement throughout our processing operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Quality control or food safety experience in a food manufacturing environment - preferably in egg or poultry processing.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in QA/QC roles.
  • Working knowledge of USDA food regulations and third-party audit programs.
  • HACCP and SQF certifications are preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adjust to changing circumstances and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and lead all food safety programs, including HACCP plans, biosecurity protocols, and environmental monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and all relevant customer requirements.
  • Work with resident USDA Inspectors to ensure processes and finished goods are compliant with all requirements.
  • Lead the Quality Control team to ensure proper execution of inspections, testing, process controls and continuous improvement.
  • Manage daily quality and food safety operations across egg production, washing, grading, breaking, and packaging lines.
  • Collaborate closely with plant operations, maintenance and sanitation teams to ensure product quality.
  • Investigate quality deviations, customer complaints, and non-conformances; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare for and lead third-party audits, USDA/FSIS inspections, and customer visits.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data; develop and report on trends and improvement plans.
  • Create and coordinate training for plant employees on food safety, egg handling best practices, and regulatory compliance.
