QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge in HACCP, ISO, and food safety systems.
  • Food Safety Certification, state specific if applicable.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • HACCP Certified preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Proactive and self-organized
  • Ability to manage through a substantial workload.
  • Ability to work in Hot and Cold Temperatures.
  • Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility (afternoon to evening shift, weekends, and holidays). Coverage Needed: 5pm to 1:00am.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting the food safety team with HAACP and food safety control.
  • Assist in ensuring the facility maintains Halal & Non-Halal food safety standards.
  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining the facility hygiene standards.
  • Complete daily Quality Control activities including but not limited to pre-operational checks, operational checks, and post-operational checks, temperature checks, cooler/freezer checks, thermometer calibration, sanitizer checks, and verification on cleaning activities of third-party cleaning company.
  • Respond to questions regarding food safety processes; reinforce GMP best practices by completing regular floor walks and self-audits.
  • Escalate non-compliance to the QA Supervisor, QA Manager, and Department manager and follow up on timely corrective action.
  • Conduct regular traceability audits, regular lab collections, and regular swabs for testing.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality assurance and product/food safety and regulatory compliance, adhering to local, state, federal, international environmental, health and food safety regulations.
  • Provide support before/at customer audits, health department inspections, training and consultations and ensure employees understand and comply with applicable standards.
  • Support with pest control management. Escalate any areas of concern to QA supervisor or QA manager.
  • Regularly audit the facility for cleanliness; audit the bathroom cleaning checklist.
  • Regularly complete swab testing.
  • Ensure all necessary chemicals are within the facility and at their appropriate departments (i.e. porters, pot wash, dish room, transportation)
  • Complete on-the-spot coaching, as necessary, when completing the floor walk through.
  • Train employees, provide coaching on hygiene and safety matters.
  • Lead training for hygiene new hire orientation.
  • Identify areas of deficiencies or retraining needed on the floor, provide suggestions and schedule training.
  • Manage the annual re-training process.
