Description

Smith Brothers Farms, the Northwest’s premier grocery home delivery service serving families throughout the Puget Sound, is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician to join the team in Kent, WA supporting the Puget Sound area.
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician is to assure food safety through HACCP compliance monitoring, implementing corrective actions and reporting of deviations to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION.

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Science, Public Health, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Possess more than five year’s experience, including current experience in food safety through HACCP compliance, product sampling, auditing, testing, HACCP and USDA regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and current experience with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
  • Oral and written fluency in the English language

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and document the production process to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and quality tests on raw materials and finished products.
  • Identify and report potential food safety issues and deviations from established standards.
  • Collect and analyze product samples for the presence of harmful microorganisms or chemical contaminants.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Production team to ensure communication and implementation of appropriate food safety measures.
  • Prepare and present quality assurance reports and documentation.
