Job Details Job Location: Reidsville, NC 27320 POSITION PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Food Safety Quality System (FSQS) Clerk is to assist in the coordination efforts of the Lopez Dorada Food Safety and HACCP Programs by working closely with the HACCP Coordinator, FSQS Supervisors as well as with members of operations and engineering departments, to ensure that all immediate and future needs of the company are secure in these areas. The FSQS Clerk will manage data entry files and accuracy of records. The FSQS Clerk will work for continuous improvements by removing any obstacles that may impede completion of documentation assigned within or by the department. As a member of FSQS, one shall always serve as a source of information regarding food and plant safety. All members of FSQS must be empowered to make critical decisions regarding equipment or employee performance when food safety or quality are compromised. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned. The FSQS Clerk is responsible for managing process data and ensuring the entry and accuracy of that data in Excel Spreadsheets. Data management includes, but is not limited to the following categories: Raw weights data, Piece Count data, Bag weight data Pre-operational SSOP tracking Sensory data for weekly cuttings and special projects Error management and tracking The FSQS Clerk is responsible for generating data summaries based on data entered into spreadsheets. The FSQS Clerk is responsible for ensuring an adequate supply of all production monitoring forms is available at all times The FSQS Clerk is responsible for understanding UPS and FedEx packing and shipping requirements for production samples for FSQS and Product Innovation departments. The FSQS Clerk must be able to perform relief duties for the FSQS Technicians The FSQS Clerk must be able to prepare sample analysis request forms (SARFs) and samples for evaluations at third-party laboratory The FSQS Clerk is responsible for ensuring proper presentation and execution of weekly sensory activities The FSQS Clerk must be able to assist with routine traceability exercises The FSQS Clerk is responsible for ensuring audit preparedness by managing a systematic filing and organizational practices Perform appropriate leadership activities as needed within the FSQS Department. Serve in place of FSQS Supervisors and HACCP Coordinator on an as-needed basis (such as vacation) and on regular rotation weekends. Be responsible for and direct the activities of up to 10 hourly employees on a routine basis. Education and/or experience High school diploma or equivalent One or a combination of the following is required: Business school, Associates degree or equivalent Two years in-plant experience at a Lopez Dorada plant facility or similar operation preferred Two years clerical experience Computer skills in MS Office Suite Be a “Critical Thinker” and a self-starter with the ability to critically evaluate situations based on merit or information provided Capable of analyzing, creating and communicating production-based reports to pertinent parties Understand the entire production process and how those processes relate to HACCP and SSOP requirements. Be familiar with all facility food safety requirements. Certificates, licenses, registrations Annual food and plant safety trainings are required The FSQS Clerk shall attend and receive certification in Basic HACCP through any HACCP Alliance Certified program. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
