Job Description Overview: The Food Safety & Quality Systems Intern will support the packing operations by assisting with the transition of the Food Safety and Quality Management software, “SmartFoodSafe”. This will provide not just knowledge into FSMA regulations and Quality System principles but hands on experience on how to implement them in a real setting with fresh produce. Here's what you'll do: Lead in implementing “SmartFoodSafe” at the TX1 Packing operations Transition, test and learn all Quality Inspection forms for the Quality Inspection Program Learn and understand Food Safety Program for the TX1 Packing Operations Transition Food Safety Program into the “SmartFoodSafe” software and train operations on its: use, KPIs and CAPA Use “SmartFoodSafe” software to implement new CAPA program for the TX1 Packing Operations The intern will gain exposure to regulatory & quality standards including: · FDA Regulations for Food Manufacturing (FSMA & GFSI Standards) · Quality System Principles · Digital software management for Food Safety & Quality programs Qualifications Here's what you'll bring to the table: Pursuing degree in: Food Science, Food Safety & Quality Management, Agricultural Science/Technology, Biology/Microbiology, Agribusiness Must be at least 18 years of age or older Strong Microsoft Suite Skills Familiarity with requirements for Food Manufacturing for fresh produce Detail-oriented and comfortable in manufacturing environments Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Must have a Junior or Senior college academic level with a minimum of 2.5 Overall G.P.A. and a 3.0 Major G.P.A.
