JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Food Safety Specialist
Department: Quality
Position Reports to: Quality Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Food Safety Specialist is responsible for providing proactive site level leadership, implementation and instruction in the area of Food Safety within their designated Flanagan facility. This position drives the corporate food safety system at the site level to mitigate risk to the safety and wholesomeness of food through implementation of the preventative controls outlined in the both the HACCP plan and Flanagan Food Safety Program. This position will lead the implementation and verification of all requirements, policies, procedures, programs and training components at their designated site in support of the Flanagan Food Safety Program. The position also acts as the lead for all product recall/withdrawal communications, regulatory inspections, and is the key contact for all GFSI and customer audits.
