The Food Service Assistant I works as part of a team during the school year to complete the day-to-day tasks associated with providing Nutrition Service to an assigned school population.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 18 years or older
• Valid Food Handler’s Certificate (OAR 333.175.000) or ServeSafe Certification must be obtained and maintained.
  This position is 6 hours per day, with a 185-day work schedule, for the 2025/26 school year.

• Assist in providing nutritious appealing meals to student and staff
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen and serving areas in a sanitary, safe, and orderly condition
• Effectively plan daily work and complete work in a timely and efficient manner
• Fill in at any kitchen for vacancies as needed
• Food preparation, repackaging and serving, store and care for food and supplies
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
• Maintain accurate accountability and implement Nutrition Service Department goals as directed by Nutrition Service Director
• Operate computer, Google Suite and calculator to receive department monies and keep accurate accounts and records
• Participate in department meeting and education programs
