Job Introduction:As a Food Service Assistant at Sodexo in Holyrood, Edinburgh, you are also a helping pair hands and a good mood motivator. This role includes the preparation and serving of our vibrant menu and ensuring all working areas are kept clean and tidy. • Assist in setup and serving of hot and/or cold foods and drinks from counters within the Parliament Café
• Clean and sanitise equipment and workstations
• Serve and replenish food from counters during meal service times and then break down stations at the end of meal service times
• Prepare and serve barista made speciality coffees
• Interacts with customers in the serving, retail, and catering areas
• Be responsible for the opening and closing of the Parliament café in the absence of the café supervisor, this will include including cash handling.
• What you bring:
• A can-do attitude and flexible approach to working
• Excellent attention to detail, plus good communication skills
• Previous experience in a similar role would be ideal, but not required
• General knowledge of health and safety procedures
• Understanding of basic food hygiene and cleaning
