UPMC Horizon-Shenango Valley is currently hiring a part-time Food Service Attendant to join their Team! We are looking for candidates who are team players and enjoy interaction with our patients and the public. No experience is required. Uniform shirts are provided. Our Nutritional Services Team provides candidates with opportunities to learn a lot, as many team members are cross trained to perform a variety of different tasks. Candidates will be working in a cafeteria environment and providing patients with their desired meal requests. This department is special in the sense that our employees prioritize both one another and our patients. Food Service Attendant is a special position because it allows for patient interaction, while being a part of a crucial team. Candidates must be able to work shift hours of 11:00am to 7:30pm with additional shifts of 4:00pm to 7:30pm as needed. Candidates must have open availability, as this position will work holidays and weekends. Responsibilities: Assures the necessary food and service equipment / utensils are secured for assigned area prior to meal service. Adheres to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment. May also perform the following job responsibilities based on Facility/Department requirements: Inventories and stocks bulk supplies, following established procedures and designated timeframes. Patient Service Specific Responsibility: Serves patient meal tray using the designated department script, to include proper patient identification. Bus tables and sanitize tables and chairs. Deliver meals to residents' rooms when requested. Set tables for the following meal according to the Food Service Guidelines Manual. Assembles and serves meals according to diet orders, menus and patient / guest specific requirements. Maintains food safety and quality as mandated by PA Department of Health/Allegheny County Health Department/PA Department of Welfare (where applicable) Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures on a consistent basis when interacting with customers. Performs sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines. Work permit required if under 18 years old.
