Description Purpose To ensure smooth counter and kitchen operations by maintaining department standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety. Provide operational support to the kitchen. Status Reports To: Assistant Food Service Manager (AFSM) FLSA Status: Non-exempt Supervises: Minimal to no supervision of staff Level: 1 / Part-time or Full-time Required Schedule Monday - 10am - 7pm (mid or closing shift) Tuesday - 10am - 7pm (mid or closing shift) Friday - 7am - 4pm (opening shift or counter shift) Saturday - 9am-5pm (counter) Essential Responsibilities and Functions OPERATIONS Operate dishwashing machine, including maintain condition and checking chemical levels each shift Wash, sanitize, dry and put away all dishes in designated locations Remove recycling and trash at the end of each shift Sweep and mop food preparation floors at the end of each shift Open and close counter according to established procedures Maintain standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization in retail, prep, and storage areas Ensure adequate stock of packaging materials Display all deli foods in service case and grab-n-go cases according to specified plan-o-gram Ensure that all products have accurate signage; notify ASFM if they do not Stock grab-n-go case as needed Package deli products as needed Notify FSM of equipment issues and needed repairs Ensure food service store conditioning and regular cleaning schedule is followed Successfully complete and maintain food safety certification Address safety concerns immediately Attend team meetings Report to FSM & GM regularly CUSTOMER SERVICE Uphold and demonstrate our above & beyond customer service policy Interact with customers, in-person and on the phone, in a friendly, efficient manner Prepare and price all made-to-order items according to established procedures with appropriate portions. Take special orders from customers according to established procedure PRODUCTION Complete assigned production lists Ensure adequate preparation and availability of all backups Produce all foods using established recipe and procedures Package, date, and label all foods using established procedures Follow proper product rotation procedures (FIFO) Requirements Physical Job Requirements The physical requirements described here are those that an employee must meet, with or without reasonable accommodation, to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to read register screen and product and shelf labels.
