One of the most important parts of their day is mealtime. It is a time to visit with others and enjoy a nutritious and flavorful meal. Our culinary staff is the key to making all that possible by doing the following: Assists in development of policies and procedures, and menus, in charge of development of individualized job descriptions, cleaning schedules, and other dietary management tools. Assures that proper storage is available, and that handling of food and supplies complies with current guidelines. Processes new diet orders and diet changes when received from Nursing Service and keeps diet tray cards updated. Visits residents to do in-depth initial nutritional assessment and screening, explain diet, record food preferences, and promote a quality of food service. Visits at least once per quarter. Evaluates work performance and gives periodic evaluations to dietary employees. Enforces established rules and regulations of the Facility and Dietary Department. Requirements Qualifications/Experience: Must be available to work weekends and some holidays. Ability to effectively communicate with families, guests, and co-workers Promote a positive environment and teamwork approach Demonstrate excellent customer service skills Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks of others Hold your Food Handlers certificate & Certified Dietary Managers Certificate Pass required State background check

The Director/Chef is responsible for elevating the dining experience by assisting in the development of policies, procedures, and menus, and ensuring compliance with food handling guidelines.
