Position: Food Service Director
Location: Long Beach, NY
Shift: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Salary: Up to $90,000 per year

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Director to lead our dietary department. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a passion for quality nutrition, and the ability to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards while fostering a positive team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a 90-hour course in food, nutrition, and personnel management in food service or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience in a nursing facility (required).
  • Must hold one of the following:
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
  • Certified Food Service Manager
  • Similar national certification in Food Service Management and safety
  • Associate’s or higher degree in food service management, hospitality, or restaurant management from an accredited institution
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must be present in the facility to perform job duties.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate master menus to ensure nutritional appropriateness for therapeutic diets.
  • Create and maintain internal policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate dietary staff, including scheduling and performance reviews.
  • Oversee the Department of Nutrition’s Quality Improvement Program.
  • Collaborate with administrative, medical, and nursing teams regarding residents’ nutritional needs.
  • Participate in food preparation, storage, and sanitation oversight.
  • Maintain proper sanitation of kitchens, serving areas, dining rooms, and storage areas.
  • Manage inventory, requisitions, and vendor deliveries to ensure quality and quantity standards are met.
  • Prepare daily reports and participate in meetings as assigned.
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring dietary staff.
  • Conduct monthly or as-needed in-service training for dietary employees.
  • Complete special projects assigned by the Administrator.
