Overview **This position will be physically located in Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP** **This Job Posting only applies to RMI Citizens and must be authorized to work in the RMI to be considered for this Job** Food Service Laborer III is responsible for the appropriate handling and storage of all food and supplies; always follow regulations regarding the proper techniques for food handling and performs various functions involving preparation of the salad bar, fruit bar, an serving line. Responsible for the appropriate handling and storage of all food and supplies; always follow regulations regarding the proper techniques for food handling Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace at all times in the kitchen and dining areas following established schedules, prescribed methods, and established standards Ensure accurate meal portioning utilizing correct serving utensils Collect, wash, and sanitize all pots, pans and utensils Stack clean flatware and trays on carts and deliver to appropriate production or distribution areas within Food Services Responsible for stocking dish room with chemical and cleaning supplies Keep Dish Return Window free of soiled trays Adhere to safety procedures in operating kitchen equipment Follow a prescribed cycle in emptying trash containers Assist in cleaning spills that are observed or requested Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and carry out repairs when needed Promote team work on a daily basis, communicate and report problems and concerns to the Manager Maintain a safe environment by following Serve-Safe standards Support supervisor in maintaining adequate inventory of food and supplies Apply proper care with table service and equipment, checking for breakage, etc. prior to storing them. Performs other duties and assignments as required Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma. Three (3) to Four (4) years of food service experience and/or working in a U.S. military environment. Skills: Must be able to read, understand, and speak English. Experience: Responsible for the appropriate handling and storage of all food and supplies; always follow regulations regarding the proper techniques for food handling Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace at all times in the kitchen and dining areas following established schedules, prescribed methods, and established standards Ensure accurate meal portioning utilizing correct serving utensils Collect, wash, and sanitize all pots, pans and utensils Stack clean flatware and trays on carts and deliver to appropriate production or distribution areas within Food Services Working Environment: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Work is generally conducted in an office or galley environment. Duties, however, may involve the conduct of work outdoors with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. May be required to work other than standard work hours to ensure effective customer support. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Physical Activities: Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical dangers and chemical or hazardous agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
