Position Description: The Food Service Manager is a management position responsible for developing menus for Mission Action housing and shelter clients. Oversees and manages kitchen operations. The Food Service Manager will be supporting a varied work schedule as needed. Key Responsibilities: Leadership Develop team members to their fullest potential Ensure individual and team performance meets objectives and expectations Plan and lead team meeting Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations Ensure entire team is trained and able to implement Supervise team regarding production, quality and control Perform inventory Manage team members performance, including verify time card by end of each pay period. Compliance Maintain a safe and healthy environment Follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour Other Organizational Duties: Conduct business in accordance with the Mission Action Employee Handbook, exercising sound judgment and serving the best interests of the agency and the community. Commit yourself to treating each community member with respect and dignity. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: -Background in and passion for working with low-income and immigrant communities around issues of affordable housing, land use, and/or immigrant & worker rights; familiarity with these issues in the Mission District and San Francisco, highly desired. -Requires at least 1 year of experience -Requires at least 1 year of experience in a management role -Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred -Strong interpersonal skills -Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other programs -Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb. -Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. -Bilingual in spoken and written Spanish, highly desired Mission Action (www.misstionaction.org) is an equal-opportunity employer which values lived experience and seeks applicants of the greatest diversity possible.
