Description:

PURPOSE: Responsible for all sales initiatives and activities including the development of comprehensive, data driven, sales strategies required to achieve long term volume, share and financial objectives while launching new product into the market.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Commerce/Business degree with at least 5 years’ experience in food service and/or industrial sales.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills; a “big picture” approach
  • French is considered to be a strong asset
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Exceptionally customer focused
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven leadership ability and capability to work on a team
  • Is profit-oriented and concerned about strategic growth as well as short-term, market share objectives – has a strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and financial results.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate, build and maintain profitable customer relationships within assigned territory and business channel; up-sell beyond the customer’s initial order; promote value added products; launch value added products
  • Visit customer sites to build relationships, generate profitable sales, review customer and competitor action such as sales, promotions, products and prices, inspect GPC product for quality and inventory levels; provide timely and accurate feedback to sales and production
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints
  • Build and promote new product value-added lines
  • Build relevant, fact-based sales strategies and business plans around customer and market segments working with both external and internal resources. Enhances and optimizes current business and identifies new business and market opportunities.
  • To develop and oversee the implementation of strategies for the sales function that are concretely linked to the corporate vision, values and strategic plan and that will ultimately grow sales
  • Anticipates trends and developments in the food industry and adjusts plans to ensure ongoing competitive advantage
  • Communicates market and customer needs to other entities in the company
  • Ensures timely and accurate status reports on all sales activities and outcomes
  • Participates in sales, trade and general business events.
  • Monitors inventory levels to ensure adequate sales & production levels.
  • Complete account call records and account profiles
  • Complete order entry functions as required

ACCOUNTABLITIES:

  • Adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures while working in the plant.
  • Follow HACCP and SQF requirements associated with the job.
  • Adhere to all Exceldor Cooperative’s company policies and procedures.
  • Build sales and maintain profitable customer relations throughout the year
  • Build and promote new product lines
  • Increase sales over previous year totals.
  • Launch innovative new product, line extensions, packaging enhancements into the market on an on-going basis
  • Develop long term sales strategies and plans as part of overall business strategy and planning process on a yearly basis.
  • Meet sales & product targets as pre-determined at the beginning of the fiscal year.
