About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Daily Grind, Galaxy Club, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom.

STANDING REGISTER ANNOUNCEMENT: Applications will be reviewed, and referrals every 7 days.

  • Scheduled shifts.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical to include being physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40lbs.
  • Able to continuously stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.

The area of consideration for this vacancy announcement:

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Must have experience that demonstrates the ability to prepare coffee beverages for retail sale and identify correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages.
  • Must be able to follow simple recipe cards.
  • Must be able to follow simple written and oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines.
  • Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and use judgment in sequencing tasks.
  • Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, cleaning equipment and work area.
  • Must be able to communicate with customers and possess skill in dealing with the public.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a employment physical.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler’s training.
  • Must be able to continuously stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of suitability and fitness for the position.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages from a full-service coffee operation and perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service areas.

  • Operates a full-service coffee bar. Prepares a variety of hot and cold beverages such as brewed coffee, mocha, latte, espresso, cappuccino, chai, hot chocolate, blended iced drinks, fruit smoothies etc., by selecting proper ingredients and following set recipes for each individual variation of drink.
  • Sets up and maintains work area in a neat and clean manner. Cleans seating area tables and replenishes condiment station as necessary. Operates dishwasher. Performs heavy duty cleaning tasks as required in the work area (floors, walls, ceilings).
  • Opens and closes facility following set procedures. Sets up work area for operation and obtains cash bank. Completes necessary documentation for cash funds accountability.
  • Assists with inventories and identifies items for re-ordering. Trains new employee as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
