Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital Do you have a passion for food and love working with people? We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Food Service and Café Assistants to bring care and a smile to every shift. The Food Service Assistant and Café Assistant assists in the preparation, delivery and service of meals to patients, staff and customers to a high standard of excellence. Roles are offered on a Casual basis. The Position: Ensure that direct working relationships are established and maintained with colleagues and internal/external customers. Adhere to the principles of the Equal Opportunity Act and Code of Conduct. Participate as part of a team and maintain a high standard of staff morale. Interpret menu cards for meal service to patients. Assist with the meal preparation, plating, and delivery of meals and snacks to customers. Assist with the washing of cutlery, crockery and glassware. Assist with the washing up of large heavy-duty pots, pans and other kitchen utensils. Observe and practice all aspects of food, kitchen and personal hygiene. Assist with general kitchen hygiene, washing of walls, floors and refrigerators etc., and other areas as requested The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care and bring previous experience in a similar role within a hospital or catering environment. They will have a basic knowledge of all areas of kitchen hygiene and the ability to accurately interpret menus while maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to promote and encourage teamwork and effective communication with all staff. They will be well organised, able to prioritise tasks, work to a set schedule, and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced food and beverage environment. Availability to work a range of shifts, including morning and afternoon shifts across a seven-day operation, is required. We can offer you Salary: $38.49 to $39.86 (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% superannuation Casual position As a casual employee, you can salary package a percentage of your earnings each pay period.
