About the opportunity

At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Food Service Assistant, you’ll create cherished moments each day.

  • Located at Mercy Place, Nixon, Mercy Place Northcliffe, Mercy Place Corben in Bayside area
  • Reporting to the Catering and Housekeeping Manager you will provide assistance with delivery, preparation and heating of meals according to individual residents dietary requirements
  • Ensuring dining areas and kitchen are kept tidy and in a safe at all times.

What you’ll bring

You’re reliable, resilient and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are genuinely interested in supporting others and making a difference in your community.

  • Food Safety Handler certificate – Level 1
  • Experience in large-scale catering and Aged Care is highly desirable
  • Ability to operate in a team environment and prioritise during peak periods
  • A passion for great food service whilst being customer and safety focused
  • An understanding that producing nutritious meals is an important part of home life for residents (and their families)

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • NDIS Clearance
  • Working rights in Australia
