Description Join Our Mission-Driven Team at the Alfond Youth & Community Center! We are currently seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Food Services Associate to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional guest and member service across various food service areas including our Youth Cafeteria, Wellness Window, and Concession Stands. This hands-on position involves food preparation, cooking, cleaning, serving, and handling transactions — all while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members and guests. POSITION SUMMARY: Deliver exemplary guest & member services and participate in all activities associated with the Kitchen, Cafeteria, Wellness Window and the Concession stand including, but not limited to prepping, cooking, cleaning, sales, money handling and serving in a safe & clean environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepare food/concessions in a timely and efficient manner Appropriately handle cash and credit card transactions Assist in preparing healthy and nutritional meals for the children that attend our programs throughout the AYCC (Including but not limited to the Wellness Window, Concessions on and off site, Wrigley Field, and Augusta Boys and Girls Club) Follow established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation in all areas of the Kitchen including but not limited to following all appropriate local and state health department food safe rules and regulations. Ability to work special AYCC functions Be aware and sensitive of those children who are new to the program and take the necessary steps to ensure that they are oriented to program logistics, schedules, and rules that govern conduct and activities with the Alfond Youth & Community Center as it pertains to food services. Be aware of allergies and/or other relevant health information Ability to attend all essential trainings/certifications SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Ready to adapt to change quickly Ability to interact with staff of all levels. Team player Organizational skills Attention to details Ability to multi-task Good communication skills Keyboarding skills Maintain confidentiality Ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently Critical thinking Flexibility Requirements KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: A high school education or GED equivalence if preferred A valid driver’s license with a clean record is desirable Food Safety/Safe Handling Certification from an approved source Ability to obtain certification if not currently holding, within 6 months Civil Rights training is required and provided for all persons who are associated with Food Service EXPERIENCE: 1 to 3 years of experience working in food distribution and preparation 1 to 3 years of customer service experience WORK SCEHDULE: 10-19 hours per week. Shifts will vary and are flexible within the following timeframes: Sunday through Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
