Pleasant Hope High School has an opening for a Food Services Director for the 2025-2026 school year.
Pleasant Hope offers a 4-day school week (Tuesday-Friday), full health benefits, and a family-like working atmosphere. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge or experience in supervising food service personnel & suggesting candidates for hiring new employees; working with the budget & requesting bids from vendors; leadership & management of the school district’s food service program. The position will remain open until filled.

POSITION: Food Service Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Graduate, preferred
  • Experience: 3 Years relevant experience in menu planning, food purchasing & preparation

Responsibilities
  • Provide the day-to-day supervision of the food service operations.
  • Implement district, Dese, and USDA Guidelines for food service.
  • Purchase food, supplies and equipment according to district policies.
  • Plan menus to meet federal USDA requirements while maximizing inventory and minimizing costs.
  • Provide training for all food service employees.
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of food service employees.
  • Plan work schedules of kitchen helpers including leave requests per the employee handbook.
  • Order, receive and utilize government commodities according to federal guidelines.
  • Updates and maintains a school food safety HACCP plan and standardized recipes per USDA standards.
  • Responsible for accurate preparation and timely filing of reports, records and documentation required for the food service operations.
  • Ensure that standards of nutrition, food quality, cleanliness, health and safety are maintained at each school kitchen.
  • Maintain communication with building principals & nurses.
  • The food service director should continue to develop management skills by participating in at least 12 hours annual training.
  • Must maintain a current food handler permit.
  • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superintendent.
