Located in the City of London, Arbor Trace is looking for a Food services Manager, permanent full-time day (40h) position, who understands the importance of team success with a desire to succeed. All services within the organization are designed to meet the needs and well-being of their residents. We are looking for a passionate individual to come and be part of our Community in order to make a positive impact in our residents’ and employees lives!

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to relate positively to residents and families, and to work cooperatively with other employees and vendors.
  • Experience with working in a unionized environment
  • Graduate of a recognized College’s food preparation program
  • A professional studies diploma in institutional cuisine or equivalent
  • At least one-year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel

    Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Be a proven leader, a coach, and ensure the best possible service for the residents.
  • Ensures that meals are prepared according to menu and that recipes are followed
  • Schedule staff, supervise and train dietary staff in day to day kitchen operations
  • Orient new staff and participate in recruitment and selection.
  • Actively communicate policies and procedures
  • Evaluate performance, coaching as necessary
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and work areas are clean, safe and orderly
  • Strictly adhere to procedures regarding infection control, food-borne illness prevention, harmful chemical handling, fire, safety and sanitation.
  • Maintain food cost within budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain strict inventory control for emergency needs
  • Conduct periodic training for kitchen personnel as necessary to maintain high quality and variety in menus, and job satisfaction for employees
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with, residents, employees, union, food services organizations and providers
  • Plan special events as needed
