UNC Hospitals and Starbucks!! Join the UNC Hospitals’ team while working in the Starbucks Café located in the North Carolina Cancer Hospital.
Responsibilities:

As a Starbucks shift supervisor, you will be a role model of the store operations standards that define our Starbucks experience. You will lead each shift, working alongside a team of baristas to deliver quality customer service and expertly crafted products. You will be in an energetic store environment where you will have the ability to positively influence and guide others, maintain an encouraging team environment, and grow your leadership skills. We believe our shift supervisors are leaders in creating an uplifting experience for our customers and baristas alike.

  • Promote and uphold Starbucks’ mission, values, and culture with integrity and professionalism
  • Maintain a calm and positive presence during high-volume or unexpected situations
  • Proactively assess customer and store needs to ensure a seamless experience
  • Support store leadership by communicating shift updates and contributing to a welcoming “Third Place” environment
  • Assist in training and coaching baristas, providing real-time feedback and performance input
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a customer-first attitude
  • Foster strong team relationships by understanding and supporting individual needs
  • Execute all store operations during shifts, including opening/closing tasks, cash handling, and safety procedures
  • Ensure consistent quality of beverages and food in accordance with company standards and health guidelines
  • Recognize team achievements and help cultivate a motivating and rewarding work atmosphere
  • Utilize operational tools to maintain high performance and shift efficiency
  • Maintain punctual and reliable attendance, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling, and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prepare and coach the preparation of food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients, or substituted ingredients
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferences:
1. One (1) year of customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment
2. Six (6) months of experience in a position that required constant interaction with and fulfilling the requests of customers
3. Six (6) months of experience (or more) delegating tasks to other employees and/or coordinating the tasks of two (2) or more employees

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • No licensure or certification required.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two (2) years food service experience

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to direct the work of others
  • Ability to learn quickly, effective oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of the retail environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
