Description The Food Stylist works with a broad team of creatives, photographers, clients, production personnel and others to create high quality and aesthetically pleasing food images for print and video content advertising across multiple media platforms. A strong background with food styling is needed. This is a diverse and hands-on job. The role involves developing new recipes, sourcing ingredients and props and preparing food for photography. Food stylists may collaborate with other food stylists, or creatives on best practices and food and photography trends. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare food for photography, including reviewing photo orders, planning and shopping for food Detailed knowledge of food prep, kitchen etiquette and safety Provide onset styling of food for catalog, ecomm and lifestyle photo and video shoots Collaborate with all studio and design partners to ensure styling and photography is on brand Develop and write recipes with some understanding of nutritional values and analysis Willingness to receive feedback and direction, and communicate with stylists, directors and clients Partner with other stakeholders to own inventory of kitchen stock and client products including replenishing and shopping as needed, responsibly and on budget Partner with team members to manage shot and product shopping schedules with the goal of improving efficiency and workflow Act as a positive team player who does not hesitate to jump in when additional support is needed Responsible for the timely completion and accuracy of photography Maintain an organized and clean prep area and on-set zone All other duties as assigned Required Skills and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Hours may vary depending on departmental staffing needs. 2-3 years styling food and/or assisting food stylists in a commercial photo studio Portfolio demonstrating your work and expertise Friendly, enthusiastic, and eager to learn and contribute Ability to multi-task, organize, and problem-solve under tight deadlines Flexible, and able to respond immediately to business changes and priorities Ability to accept constructive criticism and adapt or modify as needed Proactive and self-motivated individual with a passion for creative Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer Ability to stand, bend, and walk for periods of time while navigating photo sets and retail environments Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20–40 pounds Requires fine motor skills, including precise hand and arm movements, manual dexterity, and coordination Ability to access, navigate, and move throughout all departments within the facility Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a vehicle as needed for work-related tasks, including travel to and from retail locations to source products (company vehicle provided)
