About the role

You will lead formulation and product development for supplement and food-format products, from client brief through to a commercial-scale batch. You will work across clients, regulatory, quality and production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new formulations for capsules, tablets, powders, softgels, chewables and beverages, from brief to pilot batch.
• Scale laboratory formulations to commercial production with production and quality teams.
• Source and evaluate ingredients, including nutritional and botanical raw materials.
• Prepare product specifications, process instructions and nutrition information panels.
• Check label and marketing claims against the Australian Food Standards Code and TGA requirements.
• Plan and review stability and shelf-life studies.
• Manage client product development projects, including timelines, costs and sign-off.
• Support sensory and consumer testing.

Essential requirements

• Bachelor of Food Science, Food Technology or Nutrition Science, or equivalent.
• At least three years' product development experience in food, supplement or nutraceutical manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of the Australian Food Standards Code and TGA labelling requirements for complementary medicines.
• Experience taking formulations from laboratory to production scale.
• Strong project management and client communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience with encapsulation, tableting, powder blending or softgel processes.
• Experience with export labelling and overseas market requirements.
• HACCP or food safety certification.
• Sensory evaluation experience.

The person we are looking for

• Practical, and can explain a formulation trade-off to a client without jargon.
• Keeps a clear record of every formulation change.
