Salary: Technologist Grade 1 with a Salary Scale of €41,580 to €78,830

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Level 8 degree (as recognised on the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent), in Food Science/Food Innovation/Biosciences or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in industry or other appropriate field
  • Development and implementation of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (e.g. HACCP)

SKILLS

  • Track record of recipe development, product development and scaling across a range of food product categories.
  • Experience in operating food processing equipment.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills as dealing with clients and the delivery of training will be a key part of this role.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and meet deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Previous experience working in a customer facing product. development role in a BRC/ISO accredited operation.
  • Pilot plant/industrial experience in a range of food production and processing technologies.
  • Understanding of the principles of food analytical testing.
  • Experience with 2nd and/or 3rd party audits.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Food Product Development
  • Food quality and safety management systems (e.g. HACCP) as well as basic food regulation.
  • Development of relevant documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS), Risk Assessments, Maintenance Schedules, Cleaning regimes.
  • Supply chain/process flow improvements including the management of food waste.
  • Working knowledge of major retailer/s and Food Service Sector Product Development ‘gate’ processes & customer based specification and pack copy systems
