SUMMARY:

We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Food Technologist to support product development and application projects within the margarine, oils & fats category. You will work closely with the sales and technical teams to deliver innovative solutions, run lab trials, and support customer engagements across a range of bakery and food applications.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Food Science , Food Technology , or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in product development or applications work, preferably in oils, fats, and margarine sectors.
  • Strong hands-on skills in lab work and familiarity with food application equipment.
  • Detail-oriented with a creative and solution-driven mindset.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and data interpretation.

PREFERRED EXPERTISE & TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Application knowledge in margarine, shortening, and oil & fat systems
  • Understanding of emulsifiers and their roles in food matrices
  • Experience in bakery formulation and performance optimizationAbility to troubleshoot formulation or application issues independently

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to address technical requests, including formulation support, application development, product troubleshooting, and complaint resolution.
  • Plan and execute lab-scale and pilot-scale trials, including shelf-life studies , sensory evaluations , and performance testing of fats, margarine, and related ingredients.
  • Assist in conducting product innovation sessions, technical demonstrations, and in-house trials with customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Compile and analyze test results; prepare technical documentation such as reports, charts, and presentations to support commercial discussions.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory and pilot plant equipment; oversee regular servicing in line with SOPs and maintenance schedules.
  • Track and report monthly activities of the application lab including project pipeline, trials completed, technical visits, and customer samples delivered.
  • Prepare and dispatch application samples to customers in good condition and on time.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to support technical, commercial, or innovation goals.
