This position supports Atlanta Mission’s dining services by maintaining kitchen cleanliness and inventory, preparing food, and transporting meals and supplies safely between campuses. A valid Driver's License and clean driving record are required for this role. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Support the efficient daily operation of the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, cleaning, and organization. Transport food, pantry items, and supplies between Atlanta Mission campuses and designated partners using a Mission vehicle (truck or van). Ensure timely and safe delivery of prepared meals and food donations while maintaining proper food handling and temperature control during transport. Maintain inventory of pantry and storage areas; assist with receiving and organizing deliveries, checking for quality and accuracy. Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards by operating dishwashing equipment, polishing silverware, removing garbage, and cleaning work areas, equipment, and floors. Assist with special events and catering needs, including setup, food transport, and breakdown. Report any vehicle maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately to ensure compliance with Atlanta Mission’s transportation and safety standards. Knowledge of basic cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.). Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and collaborating with others. Ability to work independently and take initiative when completing assigned routes and tasks. Flexible and resourceful when adapting to menu changes or ingredient substitutions. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in deliveries and compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
