Food Truck Driver

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 – 3 years’ experience as a driver
  • Experience driving large vehicles considered an asset
  • Experience working with Homeless and Vulnerable populations considered an asset

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid ‘G’ Class Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract (Must be able to provide a copy of abstract)
  • Excellent driving skills
  • HACCP, WHMIS and City of Ottawa Food Handlers Certification required
  • Proven ability to demonstrate safety and sanitation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a very fast paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be a self-starter with a sense of urgency and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility in work hours, including early mornings
  • Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager OM Kitchen Services (Manager) the Food Truck Driver is responsible for driving the food truck into vulnerable communities and serving meals out of the truck in these communities. They are expected to operate the Food Truck vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules of the road, and follow all appropriate company policies and procedures. They must adhere to sanitation practices and health and safety requirements. The Food Truck Driver will have a “What Ever It Takes” attitude with the people in the communities by providing them with professional, consistent, reliable, service while in that community.
