HEAD COACH – CORK (TEMPO FOOTBALL ACADEMY)

The Head Coach – Cork is a key leadership role within Tempo Football Academy, responsible for delivering and driving the success of our full-time Transition Year (TY) football and education programme, while also overseeing Tempo’s wider programmes and initiatives across the Cork region.
This is more than a coaching role – the Head Coach will act as a leader, mentor, and driver of growth within the academy, ensuring that Tempo’s high standards of football development, player welfare, and professional culture are upheld at all times.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong background in youth coaching and player development (UEFA B or higher desirable).
  • Experience managing teams, programmes, or projects beyond coaching.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire both players and staff.
  • Organised, driven, and committed to Tempo’s vision of becoming Ireland’s leading football academy.
  • A growth mindset, eager to take initiative and help scale the academy in Cork and beyond.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: €30,000.00-€35,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • TY Programme Leadership
  • Lead the daily football delivery of the TY programme (Monday–Friday) with high-quality, structured coaching sessions.
  • Work closely with teaching and athletic development staff to align education, football, and player development.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on player progress across technical, tactical, physical, and personal development.
  • Programme Oversight
  • Oversee Tempo’s Junior Academy, camps, clinics, and community initiatives in the Cork region.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of Tempo’s philosophy and methodology across all programmes.
  • Support recruitment of players for TY, Junior Academy, and other initiatives.
  • Leadership & Mentorship
  • Act as a role model and mentor for coaches, players, and interns within the Cork centre.
  • Provide guidance and support to assistant coaches, ensuring quality control and development of staff.
  • Contribute to Tempo’s internal coach education pathway.
  • Growth & Development
  • Proactively identify opportunities to expand Tempo programmes across schools, clubs, and community partners.
  • Support the organisation and delivery of Tempo tournaments, tours, and events.
  • Drive initiatives that increase Tempo’s reach, visibility, and player recruitment in the region.
