Description
Design and Release chassis components including shocks, springs, stabars, and related hardware for future Ford Racing production vehicles. Work directly with core underbody teams to ensure requirements and design rules are met Occasional travel may be required to support vehicle development and supplier reviews. The D&R engineer is the single point of contact for all aspects of the chassis component part design; responsible to deliver components and systems that meet program targets for quality, function, cost, weight, and timing. Support the testing, prototype, launch builds and ongoing production of Ford Racing vehicles at assembly plants and test facilities. Interface daily with other D&R engineers, attribute teams, program management, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure compliance with required specifications and critical decisions are made efficiently. Established and active employee resource groups Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required. 3 years of experience with demonstrated results in component Design and Release required, with experience at different phases of the vehicle product lifecycle. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Strong knowledge of tunable suspension component design including shocks, coil springs, stabilizer bars, and related mounting hardware desired. Familiarity with Ford PD systems and processes including: GPDS, WERS, FEDEBOM, FEDE, Teamcenter, 3DX, etc. desired. Strong knowledge of chassis systems and how they interface with the other vehicle systems desired. Experience with vehicle manufacturing launch and prototype process desired Familiarity with CAD (Catia) tools desired Ford Tier II driver evaluation certification desired Ideal candidate is a self-starter with ability to deliver results and overcome obstacles.
